This is a video of the thesis defense presentation of Bastrop Cornerstone student Grace Hendrix, entitled “The Hidden Agenda of the Abortion Industry.”
After a semester of speech training, English 5 students research and write a 20-page senior thesis on a debatable topic of their choice. The school year culminates with a 20-minute memorized presentation of their thesis in front of a panel of judges and a live audience.
One Day Academy’s annual Thesis Defense Competitions start the first week in May. Each campus awards a winner from its English 5 class, who then goes on to compete for a cash scholarship against the winners from all other campuses.
After accomplishing this, nothing in a freshman college English class should intimidate them.
Keeping Up with the Graduates: Their Lives After the Thesis
Wedding bells will ring on March 21, 2015, for two former Thesis & Rhetoric students, Alexandra Garcia and Joshua Germenis. In 2010 these two were sitting next to each other, sweating over their upcoming thesis presentations; five years, they are standing together at the altar, consecrating their marriage to the LORD. After graduation, Joshua dedicated three years to his studies at Teen Mania Honor Academy, while Alex traveled to China for a year as a missionary in the underground church.
Welcome home to Shelby Pribliski, one of our former Thesis & Rhetoric graduates who just returned from a year-long internship with Impact Africa in Johannesburg, Gauteng. I love your bold, tender heart. We rejoice in all the LORD has done for and through you. Your mission field has only just begun.
Congratulations to Taylor Kerby on the publication of his first book, The Work of the Cross. Delivering his senior thesis in 2010, he has since graduated from the Honor Academy and is currently majoring in Theological and Historical Studies at Oral Roberts University. May the LORD use this and your future works in the most powerful of ways.
